From the paid car park at Alpengasthof Finkau (journey time from Zell by car approx. 45 minutes), first take the wide road to the Trisslalm. Soon the forest thins out and the hiking trail, which runs along the rushing Wildgerlosbach stream, reaches a small plain at the back of the valley. The wide footpath ends at the station of the material cable car. Now take the narrow footpath over the moraine ridge through a rocky steep slope that has been defused with rope safety devices. Soon you reach the flat ridge, smoothed by glacial ice, on which the hut stands. The Wildgerlossee is also located at the Zittauer Hütte.
